Selena Gomez has been offered a role on the upcoming film "Spring Breakers" – a potential professional coup marred by the revelation that her superstar boyfriend, Justin Bieber, has been hit with a paternity suit.

The former Disney starlet could star alongside heavyweight actors James Franco, Emma Roberts and Vanessa Hudgens, Variety reports, in the film. The Entertainment publication says the movie is about four girls in college who decide to hold up a restaurant in the hopes of getting enough cash to go on a trip to the beach.

Word on the street is that if Gomez signs on, she will play the role of a party-pooping religious young lady.

In her personal life, Gomez has had to endure paternity allegations lodged against her beau by California native Marariah Yeater, who claims that the Biebs fathered her three- month- old son Tristyn Anthony Markhouse Yeater, Star Magazine reported.

Yeater, 20, filed the paternity lawsuit on Monday and claims on October 25, 2010, she and Bieber got intimate in a bathroom backstage at the L.A. Staples Center, the same place he recently rented so he and Gomez could enjoy watching Titanic together.

Entertainment gossip site RadarOnline.com reported that Bieber’s reps denied the allegations.

"It's sad that someone would fabricate malicious, defamatory, and demonstrably false claims,” they said. “We will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies to defend and protect Justin against these allegations."

Yeater, though, said Bieber's people were less eager to talk to her.

"When I later realized I was pregnant with Justin Bieber's baby, I tried to contact him through his representatives but no one ever called me back,” Yeater is quoted by the gossip site.

A California court will hear the case during the hearing in December.
