Ricky Martin Linked To Affair With Uruguayan Actor Federico Diaz, Who Denies It All

Is Uruguayan actor Federico Diaz the reason Ricky Martin is single again?

People En Español reports that a close source told TV y Novelas Mexico that the singer and actor have maintained a loveable relationship since 2012 and that it was the principal cause for Martin’s separation from longtime boyfriend Carlos Gonzalez Abella.

The source told the magazine that Martin and Diaz met in 2006 while in Los Angeles and since then have had a friendship that kept growing over the years.

“However, it was in 2012, in one of the trips that he did to New York, that they had their first romantic meeting,” said the source, who is reportedly a friend of Diaz.

While Martin, who is working on his World Cup song with Sony, has not responded to the allegation, Diaz was quick to deny the report between him and the Boricua.

“TV y Novelas magazine published an article without any foundation and based on lies, with photos extracted from my personal Twitter and Instagram accounts, speculating and misinforming the public,” Diaz said in a statement. “This printed media wrote that it is confirming something that is far from the truth and with bad intention, and I truly don’t understand why … before I have always received love and respect from the press and I have given the same.”

Diaz, who posted the statement on his official Twitter account, said he would not speak further about the rumors and only wanted to clarify the story because of his fans.

Martin and Gonzalez announced last month they had ended their relationship sometime before Christmas.
