Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found dead from an apparent drug overdose in his Manhattan apartment at the age of 46.
The late Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman gave an unusual last wish in his will — that his then-only child grow up in one of three US cities, according to the New York Post, which posted the will on the newspaper's website.
“It is my strong desire…that my son, Cooper Hoffman, be raised and reside in or near the borough of Manhattan…or Chicago, Illinois, or San Francisco, California,” the actor says in his 13-page will filed in Manhattan Surrogate’s Court Wednesday morning.
“The purpose of this request is so that my son will be exposed to the culture, arts and architecture that such cities offer,” the acclaiming screen and stage star wrote.
The document was written almost ten years ago, before his untimely death of an apparent heroin overdose earlier this month.
Hoffman left the bulk of his fortune to his longtime companion and mother of his three children, Marianne O’Donnell.
