Net-A-Porter's Photoshop fail: Retailer uploads image with retouching notes

Now that’s a Photoshop fail.

Net-A-Porter accidently posted a photo on their website featuring a model wearing a bomber jacket and a white t-shirt, paired with a green tartan skirt and navy socks — except she was also covered with blue arrows indicating retouching notes, including a message to
"please, slim."

The photo was up for only a few hours before the online luxury retailer realized their error, quickly replacing it with the same image, minus the commentary. However, viewers had already noticed the online faux pas.

“Bad enough £35 for socks but to want to make the model slimmer too!?” one tweeted.

Net-A-Porter has since commented on the mistake, noting that the edits were suggested specifically to showcase the merchandise as accurately as possible, not as a means to modify the model’s weight.

“We post images that accurately represent the garments so that customers receive the product they expect,” wrote a representative from Net-A-Porter in an email to Cosmopolitan.com. “This image was uploaded to our product page in error and the notes refer exclusively to the garments.”
