“Bat Out of Hell”? More like s— t out of luck.

Page Six has learned that the soon-to-open “Bat Out of Hell: The Musical” has had to drop a showstopping stunt from its production.

In the London run of the Meat Loaf jukebox musical, we’re told fans were thrilled when a cast member leapt into a pool of water on the stage, disappeared for nearly a minute — and then re-emerged having done a full costume change underwater.

Apparently, the spectacle produced audible gasps from audiences. But we’re told the feat has been taken out of the US version.

While sources told us that it’s because the American actors’ union is more uptight than its British counterpart about potentially dangerous stunts, sources close to the production told us that the stage at New York City Center — where the show starts a six-week run on Aug. 1 — can’t accommodate the water tank.

MEAT LOAF FALLS OFF STAGE, BREAKS COLLARBONE

In other words: It’ll do anything for Loaf, but it won’t do that.

The show announced a North American tour last year, but has only played a handful of dates.

The Post reported that when the show played Toronto, viewers called it “an over-the-top hoot.”
