HBO star Lena Dunham tweeted this this afternoon about paying opening-act performers on her book tour.

It all started when the New York Times yesterday reported details of Dunham’s 12-city book tour beginning this week, noting nearly 600 people responded to an open call for video auditions on her website for her “ambitious” tour, quoting Dunham saying, Three of the videos were disturbing, but the rest were super awesome, and that she’d spent several hours screening the auditions in bed. In passing, the NYT said the seven artists who made the final cut will not get cameos in Dunham’s HBo show “Instead, theyll be the warm-up acts performing free of charge on an elaborately produced, 11-city tour” to promote her book, "Not That Kind of Girl."

After tweeting that her opening acts would be “compensated” after all, Dunham added:
