Jimmy Kimmel has had just not one-- but two -- surgeries on his penis.

The late-night TV host revealed at SXSW that he had multiple surgeries to correct an unexpected medical issue with his urethra.

“It just kind of closed up on its own,” he told E! News. “I don’t know why it happened. I still don’t know why.”

He did not reveal if he was ever formally diagnosed with a specific illness or condition, but he said he was told by doctors he needed surgery to fix the issue.

“I don’t know the guy said your urethra is closing up and we need to operate on it, and they did,” he revealed. “And they said ‘yeah, we didn’t really get it. It didn’t quite work. We have to do it again.’ And they did it again”

He said the surgeries went down “a long time ago.”

Kimmel recalled just how unpleasant the experience was.

"It's a horrible process by the way—a horrible, horrible process."
