Actor Alec Baldwin wanted to thank the women who have had a hand in helping him and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, look after toddler daughter Carmen, and infant son, Rafael.

“I am forever indebted to the women who have helped care for our children,” the actor wrote on Instagram on Wednesday. “Muchos gracias Lizzy, Sandra, Zena, Lisa and Avril.”

The sweet message hit the social media scene, and soon the couple was coming under attack and being accused of having a slew of nannies take care of their children.

The actor’s yoga-loving wife was quick to respond to reports that made her out to be a play-at-home mother. She didn't take it very well.

“I was offended because it makes me sound like a lazy mom… that hurts,” the 31-year-old wrote on her Instagram account. “Especially because I spend so much time with my children that I barely sleep.”

In another post, Hilaria Baldwin acknowledged that the couple does have help for when they are working or working out, going to events or on date nights, and her husband wanted to thank the “nannies and babysitters who have worked with us.”

“He expressed gratitude and the media decided to take a negative spin. Not so fair,” she wrote.

She was adamant that they do not have five nannies, but instead a lot of people, paid and not paid, who help them out – and even shared a list of 49 people, including her stepdaughter Ireland Baldwin, thanking them for ‘loving and caring for our children.”

“We are so grateful,” Hilaria Baldwin wrote. “These are not all nannies. Am I making my point about what my husband was saying?”
