We still don’t know the exact date of the “Game of Thrones” season six premiere, but after tantalizing us with the first Jon Snow-centric poster and season six teaser, HBO released a few snippets of footage from the new season in their 2016 preview promo on Sunday night.
The blink-and-you’ll-miss-them scenes feature Emilia Clarke’s Daenerys Targaryen looking a little worse for wear, Iwan Rheon’s Ramsay Bolton leading his father’s troops — perhaps in pursuit of Theon and Sansa? — and Lena Headey’s Cersei Lannister (still rocking her shortened hair following her penance walk) as she bestows a sweet motherly kiss on the head of her son, King Tommen (Dean-Charles Chapman). Alas, despite the previous teaser trailer’s focus on the erstwhile Bastard of Winterfell, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) does not make an appearance in the new shots — not that we really expected he would.
Skip to the 1:50 mark if you’re desperate to feast your eyes the new “Game of Thrones” shots ahead of season six’s April premiere.
The sneak peek also includes footage from the premium cabler’s freshman shows and upcoming films, including Sarah Jessica Parker’s “Divorce,” Bryan Cranston’s “All the Way,” Kerry Washington’s “Confirmation” and the TV reimagining of “Westworld,” starring Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood and James Marsden.
