411 Country: Hank Williams, Jr. mixes politics and music in new album 'Old School, New Rules'
We’ve got a lot of fun music videos for you to check out this week!
Hank Williams Jr.’s new single “That Ain’t Good” from his first new album in 3 years “Old School, New Rules” is our featured song of the week. We also bring you an interview with the country singer as he tells us about making the new collection on which he mixes his signature rowdy rocking sound with plenty of political and social commentary.
We have the new Mike Judge animated production for Zac Brown Band’s single “The Wind” off their just released third studio album “Uncaged”. Plus we spotlight the quirky new video “Takin’ Pills” by Miranda Lambert and her Pistol Annies band mates Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.
Lambert herself is in the news, sending out a message to fans after being put on vocal rest for a second week and forced to postpone this weekend’s shows. The shows have been rescheduled for October. In a statement, Lambert apologized to fans but promises to make it up to them saying, “I’m so sorry to disappoint the fans that have already bought tickets to see me,” Miranda wrote, “I’m taking care of my voice and I can’t wait to get on the road again and bring you a hell of a show.”
Lambert’s husband Blake Shelton also makes headlines after spending part of this July 4th holiday weekend with our troops. Shelton performed a sold out show July 6th for servicemen and women in NY and announced a philanthropic partnership with jc penney to benefit the USO (United Service Organizations). The partnership is called “JCP Cares” and Shelton will serve as the company’s “JCP Cares” ambassador throughout the year. They kicked off the program with a $1 million donation to the USO. Jc penney will also donate $1 up to $50,000 to the USO for each customer that checks in to one of their stores using the social networking tool foursquare from July 23-31.
