Eva Longoria feels like a married woman even though she has not said “I do” to fiancé José Antonio “Pepe” Bastón.

In an interview with Us Weekly, the “Telenovela” actress revealed that she and Bastón have been referring to each other as husband and wife since well before he proposed during a holiday in Dubai last December.

“The word fiancée feels like I got demoted,” she said. “We feel married.”

The 40-year-old actress and the Televisa executive began dating just over two years ago after a mutual friend introduced them in 2013.

Longoria calls him “the man of my dreams,” and, while she is not itching to walk down the aisle just yet, she said that her previous marriages have helped her understand that what she has with Bastón is special.

“What makes my relationship with Pepe so much sweeter is that I don’t put pressure on myself or the idea of marriage as much as I did when I was younger,” she told the magazine. “I wanted to walk down the aisle. I wanted a dress. I wanted the church. Once you realize a wedding isn’t a marriage, then you can learn to appreciate it more, and it lessens the expectations when you’ve gone through it.”

Longoria said she also doesn’t sweat the simple things any more – like dinner plans and vacations.

“I used to care so deeply about all of those things that peck away at a relationship. If I let go of the reins, I know Pepe knows how to drive – and I trust that. I’ve found patience to relax and let go.”

The former “Desperate Housewives” star was married to soap opera star Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004 and to NBA guard Tony Parker from 2007 to 2011.
