There's a "Duck Dynasty" musical in the works, which is set to hit a Las Vegas stage next February, the New York Times reports. The plan is for "The Duck Commander Family Musical," to debut at the Rio Hotel and Casino, which is currently home to a Chippendales show and Penn & Teller.

The musical will feature actors playing members of the Robertson family and telling the story of how the family went "from rags to riches," the Times reports.

The show is being developed by Broadway producer Michael David ("Jersey Boys"), who is, for the moment, brushing off questions about whether the LGBT-friendly Broadway community and the Robertson family, who are Evangelical Christians, make a good partnership — especially in the wake of controversial comments patriarch Phil Robertson has made about gay people.

"The show will end up challenging the views and assumptions of people across the political spectrum, more than most theater does," David tells the Times. "The Robertsons are so unusual, their story so juicy, and theater shouldn't be limited to telling stories about people you resemble or revere."

"The Duck Commander Family Musical" will feature a 14-song score that's a mix of country, blues and show tunes, the Times reports. It will also address Phil Robertson's comments, according to David and music director Jeff Calhoun.

Season 7 of "Duck Dynasty" premieres next Wednesday on A&E, and Sadie Robertson is currently in the Final Five on "Dancing with the Stars."
