Feldman, 46, claimed that he was stabbed in an “attempted homicide” after three Hispanic men followed him and his bodyguard at an intersection in Los Angeles late Tuesday night. Police told Page Six that they are investigating the case as a random road rage incident.
The “Goonies” star was hospitalized, treated and released for a small puncture wound on his stomach early Wednesday morning.
Feldman’s bodyguard told TMZ early Friday that blood and urine tests the actor underwent at the hospital came up free of any hard drugs or diseases, and that doctors didn’t see anything unusual about a scratch he suffered to his abdomen.
It’s unclear if Feldman’s abdominal injury was from a knife, blade, syringe or other object, but Feldman’s attorney, Perry Wander, told Page Six that he believes that Feldman may have actually suffered a defensive wound during the scuffle.
“The wound is not serious, but it shook him up and scared him,” Wander said. “He’s more on edge than he was before, and he was already on edge.”
Wander claims that Feldman is paranoid after launching a campaign to expose alleged pedophiles in Hollywood.
“One thing I can tell you for sure is that there is 100 percent for a fact that there is a conspiracy … It all has to do with the pedophilia claims that I’ve made,” Feldman said.
“I can’t say that this incident was related, but what I can say is that it’s very odd that a group of Mexican guys would pull over a car, go as far as opening a door and stabbing the person inside,” he continued. “If they’re going to do that kind of an aggressive move, they’re going to ask for a wallet … they’re going to ask for your car keys, they’re going to ask for some kind of demand … The guy just got back in his car and left … That sounds like a message.”
Despite the conflicting messages about what actually happened, Feldman likely won’t be charged with filing a false report about the incident, the LAPD told Page Six, because he truly believes he was stabbed.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
