The 2012 Coachella music festival lineup has been announced and joining big headliners such as Radiohead, Snoop Dog and Dr. Dre will be Mexican telenovela actress-turned-singer Ximena Sariñana.

The Guadalajara native, who recently was busy recording a duet with Juan Luis Guerra’s protégée, Vicente García, will be performing on Friday, April 13th, the day the show begins. The show runs through the weekend and again the following weekend, from April 21st through the 23rd, in Indio, Calif.

As for Garcia, Sariñana decided to work with him after he boldly sent her two of his demos in hopes that she would collaborate with him.

“Working with her [Sariñana] was so gratifying,” García recalls. “It was such a surprise because I wasn’t even signed yet.”

Besides working with García, Sariñana rocked out New York City last summer at the Latin American Music Conference (LAMC) along with fellow Mexican star Ely Guerra and Spanish rock stars Jarabe de Palo.

Sariñana was also featured in last year’s lineup at Lollapalooza. She was one of the only four Latinos performing and the only Mexican artist.

Others joining Sariñana will be Mexican bands Hello Seahorse! and Le Butcherettes, the British pop group Pulp, Swedish punk band Refused and the Swedish House Mafia as well as rock duo The Black Keys.

Also sharing the stage with Sariñana will be House DJ David Guetta, who recently has been featured on singles with Rihanna, Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas and Akon.
