Chelsea Handler wishes Robert Mueller a happy Valentine's Day, mocks Trump and Putin

While stars far and wide celebrated love and relationships on Valentine’s Day, comedian Chelsea Handler took the opportunity to get political and make fun of President Donald Trump as well as his son.

Handler, 43, took to Twitter on Thursday to make hay out of recent rumors that Donald Trump Jr. is next in the crosshairs of Robert Mueller’s ongoing investigation into Russian collusion. Having already yielded several indictments, many believe that Trump Jr. is next, something that Handler commented on while sharing a tongue-in-cheek Valentine with the Special Counselor.\

“Happy Valentines Day to Robert Mueller, and for him giving his final rose to Donald Trump Jr. That would make this holiday really count,” she wrote.

Hours later, she shared another post, this one aimed at mocking the president himself by insinuating he has a more than diplomatic relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Happy #ValentinesDay to these two lovebirds,” she wrote over a doctored image of Trump and Putin holding hands and leaning backward. Trump’s hands appear to have been digitally shrunk to make them look smaller.

Taking shots at the Trump family and administration is par for the course for Handler, who is rarely shy about voicing her political opinions on social media. Earlier in the week, she fired off a tweet critical of Trump’s reported golf simulator in the White House. The star suggested it was an unnecessary expense given the recent partial government shutdown.

“Trump has installed a room-sized ‘golf simulator’ in the White House. So if you’re wondering why we can’t pay those furloughed workers back… now you know,” she wrote.
