Candace Cameron Bure on 2016 race: 'A bit of a circus'
Actress opens up about election comments, new projects
LOS ANGELES – Candace Cameron Bure is having a hard time watching the Billy Bush and Donald Trump saga unfold.
“It was disheartening to hear the tapes," she said of recently released tapes that featured Bush and Trump discussing women in a lewd manner. "My husband is a professional athlete, and I’ve been in locker rooms before. I can’t say the talk was exactly like that but... I think anyone who says they’ve never heard inappropriate talk would be lying to themselves."
"The View" co-host has only good things to say about fellow TV host Bush.
"... He has been nothing but so kind and so pleasant every time I was on his show. He has always been such a wonderful person to me, so it’s hard to watch him go through this.”
The "Fuller House" star said she isn't sure where she sees this election heading.
“I honestly don’t know. I don’t know,” she said. “The way this election is coming down between both candidates is embarrassing for our country. A lot of people just can’t help but laugh and feel sorry, but it’s a shame because we have such an incredible country... It’s just hard to watch. Anyone’s guess is as good as mine.”
Meanwhile, the 40-year-old actress is constantly keeping busy, flying between Los Angeles and New York for work.
“It’s so much juggling. Sometimes I don’t know how I do it because my schedule is pretty ridiculous. It’s all time management. Do I get exhausted? Absolutely, I get worn out and my body can shut down at certain times,” she said. “But I am so passionate about my family and about what I do that I want to be able to do all of those things."
Aside from her TV gigs, Bure takes on movie roles from time to time. Currently, she is getting ready for the premiere of her fourth Hallmark movie, “The Julius House: An Aurora Teagarden Mystery," which premieres Sunday.
“I play Aurora Teagarden... She doesn’t find dead people in the house but there are people that used to live in the house that had died. And so because her whole passion is to try to solve these unsolved crimes, she is on a mission to figure out what happened to this family that used to live in the house she just bought.”
