Baltimore Ravens cheerleader leaves hospital after cheer injury

A Baltimore Ravens cheerleader is out of the hospital and recuperating at home after being injured in a fall and carted off the field Sunday.

The woman, whom the team declined to identify, was thrown in the air and hit the ground during a stunt while Baltimore played Tennessee. She was treated at the hospital for head, back and neck injuries.

The woman was cleared to leave the hospital and walked out under her own power, a team spokesman said.

Team medical personnel stabilized her on the sideline before she was wheeled off the field.

It’s been a bad month for Ravens cheerleaders, past and present.

Last week a grand jury indicted former NFL cheerleader Molly Shattuck, 47, on two counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual contact and three counts of providing alcohol to minors, Delaware State Police Sgt. Paul Shavack said.

She was released on $84,000 bond after an arraignment Wednesday in Sussex County Superior Court in Georgetown.

On September 26, a 15-year-old boy told police that Shattuck began an inappropriate relationship with him near Baltimore and that it culminated with sexual activity at a vacation rental home in August, Shavack said.
