Arianna Huffington -- who went from running a 50-person newsroom before AOL's $315 million acquisition of the site this year, to overseeing 1,500 as the president and editor-in-chief of all of AOL's media properties -- is said to be very sensitive to bad publicity. (Reuters)

Is the Huffington Post short on copyeditors?

According to a Real Clear Politics report, a Huffington Post slideshow meant to honor Mark Twain on his birthday was filled with mistakes and misquotes from the famous writer.

The slideshow, posted on Nov. 30, featured 27 slides with quotes from Mark Twain. But, according to the report, only 11 of the 27 slides actually contained real Twain quotes. The rest were quotes from others attributed to Twain.

What’s worse? It seems even the website’s editor-in-chief didn’t catch the error. Arianna Huffington tweeted a link to the gallery, writing “27 Mark Twain quotes to celebrate his birthday.”

The gallery has since been edited and features only the 11 photos and quotes the Real Clear Politics article deemed accurate.
