Two corrections officers were critically wounded in a shooting in the lobby of a central California county jail Saturday.

Fox News confirmed that a suspect was in custody and also learned that the suspect was a visitor to the Fresno County jail in Fresno who walked into the lobby and opened fire.

It was unclear if the wounded officers, a man and a woman, had been targeted. They were taken to a hospital.

Officials planned to release more information at an afternoon press conference.

Sheriff's spokesman Tony Botti said deputies responded to a report of an active shooter inside the jail Saturday morning.
