A chocolate Labrador who disappeared during a camping trip about nine weeks ago was located about 20 miles from where she disappeared and returned to her family, Fox10Phoenix.com reported.

Cocoa lost about 15-20 pounds out in the forest north of Payson. The owners were frantic and put up signs and revisited the location several times. The dog also had a microchipped collar, which aided in the hunt.

“I was ecstatic; I was crying. They’re an amazing group of people that volunteer their time and emotions and efforts to do this,” greg Fries, the dog’s owner said. “I cannot begin to express my appreciation for what they’ve done.”
