New England Patriots defensive tackle Tommy Kelly will miss the rest of the season because of a right knee injury.

Kelly was placed on injured reserve Saturday, becoming the third defensive starter for the Patriots to go on the list. They've already lost defensive tackle Vince Wilfork and linebacker Jerod Mayo, who both were chosen for several Pro Bowls.

Kelly, a 10-year veteran, signed with New England after being released by Oakland in March. He missed the last three games after being injured Oct. 6 in a 13-6 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Patriots also signed offensive lineman Josh Kline to the 53-man roster from the practice squad.

New England (6-2) is home against the Pittsburgh Steelers (2-5) on Sunday.
