The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed outfielder year deal. Financial details were not known, but the pact was pending a physical.

McLouth, who began his career with the Pirates in 2005, endured an injury- plagued 2011 for the Atlanta Braves and hit .228 with four homers and 16 RBI. Atlanta declined his option following the year.

Acquired by the Braves from the Pirates in June of 2009, McLouth played in 250 games for Atlanta over two-plus seasons, hitting .229 with 44 doubles, 21 home runs and 76 RBI.

McLouth, though, returns to Pittsburgh, where he spent five seasons and was an All-Star and Gold Glove Award winner in 2008.He was a .261 hitter in his time with the Pirates and swatted 60 home runs to go along with 194 RBI.
