Greg Palkot currently serves as a London-based senior foreign affairs correspondent for Fox News Channel (FNC). He joined the network in 1998 as a correspondent.
Palkot has covered a variety of international and national stories for FNC. Most recently in 2013, Palkot interviewed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on the allegations of the use of chemical weapons at the Syrian Presidential Palace in Damascus. He also reported live from Beirut to cover the attack in Syria on August 21st. Additionally, Palkot has covered the civil uprisings and removal of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi live from Tahrir Square, National Security Administration (NSA) leaks involving former NSA government contractor Edward Snowden and the deadly train crash that killed 79 people in Santiago de Compostela, Spain.
In recent years, Palkot has reported from the Pakistan site of the U.S. SEAL raid on the lair of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden in 2011 and was at the scene of the killing of former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi. He has also provided rare up-close looks inside Pyongyang, North Korea and was in Japan for the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake, tsunami and nuclear disaster.
During his career, Palkot was embedded with U.S. troops on the front lines of combat. He was the first reporter in the "spider hole" where Saddam Hussein was caught and was with the first Marine unit invading the terror hotbed of Fallujah, Iraq. He accompanied soldiers and Marines in their battles with the Taliban in southern and eastern Afghanistan and has covered the Navy's search for modern-day pirates off the coast of Africa. While in Europe, he reported on a range of stories, including the bloody riots in Greece sparked by Europe's debt crisis, ethnic and extremist tensions in Belgium and Holland and terror plots acted on and thwarted in France and the U.K.
Prior to joining FNC, Greg served as an anchor, reporter and producer both internationally and in the U.S. for programs airing on PBS, Financial News Network (now CNBC), WABC and CBS.
Palkot is a three-time Emmy award-winner for reporting, news coverage and feature stories. He has also received recognition from the Associated Press, United Press International and the International Film and Television Awards. Palkot received a B.A. in English from Wesleyan University.
