Astro came crashing down to earth, Thursday night on The X Factor as he and Drew were the two contenders sent home during the double elimination round.

Astro, a.k.a Brian Bradley took the ‘pack your bags’ announcement quite gracefully — a complete 180 degrees from the reaction he had 2 weeks ago when he saw himself in the bottom two and refused to sing for his X Factor survival.

Last night, Simon told Astro he was glad the public kept him around and that he deserved to be in the competition. Nonetheless, singing diva Nicole Scherzinger didn’t think Astro’s rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Black or White” was his hottest performance.

“It’s a pleasure being here,” Astro told reporters backstage after the elimination. “But, with the X factor there’s a lot of restrictions.”

“Now, I can go home and release a mix tape if I want to,” he added. “It’s not the end of the road for me and I feel like there’s a lot of new music coming from me. Now I can be more free and be the Astro from Brooklyn that I wanted to be in the first place.”

Unlike Astro, Drew was not as relieved to be going home.

Drew, 14, who battled it out with Marcus Canty, performed “Listen to Your Heart” by Roxette made sure America knew she was not ready to leave the competition.

“I’m nervous and I just hope everybody can see my true talent,” Drew said. “I hope that shows.”

Still, it was hard to outshine Canty’s version of Gladys Knight & The Pip’s “Niether One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye.)

Simon Cowell felt he was to blame for Drew’s elimination and begged the judges to keep Drew around.

“The reason Drew is in this position tonight is my fault I take total responsibility, “said Cowell. “I genuinely believe you deserve a second chance. I’m begging these two to give her another chance.”

Scherzinger told Drew she had been hard on her because she thought Drew was “the best.”

“I believe in you,” Scherzinger said.

With that she went on to send her home telling Canty “When you sing I feel like your heart is on the floor for all to see.”

Paula Abdul also sent the teen home because she felt Canty really sang from the heart.

Hearing this, Cowell stormed off the stage and refused to give X Factor host Steve Jones a comment.

"I’ll say it backstage," an outraged Cowell said, reiterating to Drew one last time that he knows she’s got what it takes to be a star.
