In the Dec. 20 issue of The Hollywood Reporter,  superstar Mark Wahlberg who used to go by the name Marky Mark, admits that he almost missed out on being cast in "The Basketball Diaries" because he was feuding with the star of the film, Leonardo DiCaprio.

“Leonardo was like, ‘Over my dead f…ing body. Marky Mark’ls not going to be in this f…ing movie,” he remembers.

But the Boston native confesses that he deserved the enmity according to a report in Us magazine.

“Because we’d had a thing – I didn’t even realize it, (but) I was a bit of a d..k to him at a charity basketball game,” he recalls. “So he was like, ‘This f…ing a..hole is not going to be in this movie.”

But the “Lone Survivor” star won over DiCaprio with his acting abilities.

"So I come in and I do the audition and I kind of look at him and he kind of looks at me," he says. "And then we do a scene, and they're like, 'Hmm, this f---ing dude's pretty good, right?' The next thing you know, boom, we're hanging out."

Wahlberg isn't the only star to have had frosty relations with DiCaprio.

George Clooney recently revealed in the December issue of Esquire that he too had a beef with the “Titanic” star and oddly enough it also centered around basketball. The ‘Gravity’ star claims DiCaprio and his posse trash talked Clooney and his gang while shooting the hoops.
