Cameron Diaz is speaking her mind, and raising some eyebrows.
The Cuban-American actress said in an interview with the Sunday New York Times that she believes all women deep in their hearts “want to be objectified.”
“I think every woman does want to be objectified,” Diaz told the publication. “There’s a little part of you at all times that hopes to be somewhat objectified, and I think it’s healthy.”
Diaz also says in her interview that having sexy photo shoots makes her feel strong because it is “empowering.”
“I know what I feel comfortable doing and I know my sexuality,” Diaz said. “I’m a woman, I know how to handle myself.”
“I’m not some young girl with the photographer going, ‘Will you take your clothes off?’ I’m like [mimes stripping], ‘How does this look?’” Diaz continued.
Diaz shows off major sex appeal in her latest movie “Gambit,” starring Colin Firth and Tom Courtenay.
In the film, Diaz plays PJ Puznowski, a rodeo expert with good looks and a fiery personality to match.
The film hits theaters on Wednesday. It is a remake of the 1996 original with Michael Caine and Shirley McLaine. It is written by the Joel and Ethan Cohen, who wrote award-winning work like Javier Bardem’s “No Country For Old Men.”
