The entertainment website said Lohan has been moved from the Downtown Women's Center in Los Angeles to a Red Cross office after numerous violations in her effort to complete 480 hours of community service.
The 25-year-old was sentenced to the work as part of her probation for pleading no contest to taking a $2,500 necklace from a Los Angeles boutique in January.
She was required to serve at least four hours at a time at the center, and be reliable and non-disruptive.
Sources told TMZ that Lohan believes she was unfairly booted, insisting the staff at the center were "mean" to her and claiming she had done everything she was asked to do.
"Lindsay is now serving her community service at the Red Cross, and we're not providing any comment beyond that," her rep told E! News.
Lohan had been due to complete 360 hours at the women's center, with the remaining 120 hours earmarked for janitorial duty at the LA County Morgue.
She is due back in court next week for a progress hearing.
