There was blood everywhere in the apartment where Weston Cage and Nikki Williams got into a battle royal early Sunday, sources familiar with the case tell TMZ.

Nic Cage's son and his wife were both booked on felony domestic violence. Weston posted $50,000 bond and was released. Williams is still in custody.

Cage and Williams were taken to the police station for questioning after the domestic disturbance. Witnesses told TMZ that Williams went nuclear inside their apartment.

Witnesses said in addition to cutting him on the arm with a bottle, she punched him wildly and threatened to jump off the balcony. But police believed Cage was also violent and so booked him on felony domestic violence as well.

Sources tell TMZ Cage had gone into rehab shortly after a violent altercation with his trainer last month, and his wife had followed suit.

Earlier in the weekend, TMZ spoke to Williams outside a Los Angeles club, where she said marriage was "tough but wonderful" and that "communication is key."

TMZ sources said a woman in the apartment -- presumably Nikki -- called 911 and treated the dispatcher to "blood-curdling screams."
