Next year might not be so bad…if you own a pickup.
Ford has announced at the Chicago Auto Show that it will be offering a snow plow prep package on the all-new 2015 F-150 when it goes on sale later this year.
Available on most 4x4 models equipped with the 5.0-liter V8 engine, the dealer installed package adds the wiring, cooling and other features needed to accommodate a plow up to 450 pounds.
While the package won’t be entirely unique in the light-duty pickup class, it will be the only one available in all cab configurations. GM, for instance, offers its prep package only on regular cab trucks.
Ford’s also comes with an awesome Snow Plow Mode button that shuts down other non essential features to send maximum power to the plow system.
Pricing for the F-150 package has not yet been revealed.
