Lamborghini may have gone corporate under VW ownership in recent years, but it still knows how to party.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the Italian supercar specialist has introduced its fastest and most outrageous road car yet, the Veneno.

Named after a Spanish fighting bull that killed a matador in 1914, the Veneno is based on the company’s Aventador coupe and built around that car’s carbon fiber chassis.

With an adjustable wing, widened fender flares and a shark fin stabilizer to improve downforce in the turns, the Veneno looks all the world like a Le Mans racer that escaped the track.

A multitude of vents and cooling ducts found all over its body improves aerodynamic performance and assists cooling its 750 hp V12, which is good for a top speed of 221 mph.

Only three of the cars will be sold, one in each color of the Italian flag -- green, white and red – each for the nice round price of three million euros, or $3.9 million.

But don’t dip into your trust fund just yet. Even though the economy in Europe is still in the pits, all three cars have already been spoken for.
