Prosecutors have presented witness accounts of how two men accused of killing of a British soldier on a London street ran him over with a car then attacked him with knives and a meat cleaver.

The widow of 25-year-old Lee Rigby left the court in tears Monday as prosecutor Richard Whittam read out the accounts at London's Central Criminal Court.

Michael Adebolajo, 28, and 22-year-old Michael Adebowale are accused of murdering Rigby on May 22. They deny the charges.

One witness, Thomas Seymour, said he saw one suspect stab at the soldier's torso "10 or 20 times" on the side of the road. He said he saw the other suspect attack the victim's head and believed he was trying to decapitate the victim.

The defense case will be presented later.
