CHARLOTTE AMALIE, U.S. Virgin Islands (AP) — Police in the U.S. Virgin Islands have arrested a man for allegedly shooting his sister and a teenage niece to death after an argument.

Police spokeswoman Melody Rames said Saturday that 48-year-old Miles David has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder. It is unclear what led to the fight.

It was not immediately known if David had a lawyer.

Police say an officer on patrol heard shots in a St. Croix neighborhood Friday and discovered the bodies of two women, ages 40 and 19. Rames says the shooting occurred in front of a house.
