Turkey's state-run news agency says Turkish soldiers have killed four suspected Islamic State militants near the border with Syria, a day before world leaders gather for an economic summit.

The Anadolu Agency says the incident occurred in the town of Oguzeli, in Gaziantep province on Saturday. It said two cars believed to be carrying IS militants approached a military vehicle, ignored warnings to stop and opened fire on the soldiers. The soldiers responded, killing four militants inside one of the cars.

The agency said the other car escaped.
