STOCKHOLM -- Swedish police searching for a missing man found his rotting corpse on a woman's sofa -- as she danced naked around her apartment.
The dead man was reported missing in September but the unnamed 52-year-old woman, who he was known to spend time with, told police she did not know where he was, the Aftonbladet daily reported Tuesday.
The second time officials questioned the woman at her home they discovered the man's body in an advanced stage of putrefaction as she "was dancing around naked in the apartment," a source told the paper.
An autopsy revealed the man had likely been dead for months.
"This is probably not a murder. The woman is sick and it is just very tragic," Lars Lundin of the South Stockholm police told the newspaper.
"She has nothing to do with the death," the woman's lawyer, Anton Strand, told the Expressen newspaper.
The woman was initially arrested but has since been released.
