Spain's interior minister says two Chileans and an Italian woman are among five people arrested for setting off an explosive device in a cathedral last month.

Jorge Fernandez Diaz said the five, who were arrested Wednesday, formed part of an "extremely dangerous" anarchist group with international connections.

A device exploded in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pilar in the northeastern city of Zaragoza on Oct. 2 while people were in the church. No one was injured and little damage was done.

Diaz said the Chileans, who were arrested in Barcelona, had been investigated in Chile for similar crimes. They were identified only by their initials.

He said the detained Italian woman collaborated with the two Chileans. He did not say who the other two suspects are.
