DURBAN, South Africa – DURBAN, South Africa (AP) — South African police say a member of the Air Force died after his parachute failed to open when he jumped from a small plane during rehearsals for an upcoming air show.
The 54-year-old was confirmed dead at the scene by paramedics late Friday morning.
Police spokesman Vincent Mdunga said the man was scheduled to take part in a weekend show at the Virginia airport north of Durban, in the country's east.
