A single-engine plane has made an emergency landing on one of the main highways leading out of Moscow, straddling the rail that separates north- and southbound traffic.

No injuries were reported in the Saturday afternoon incident on the Yaroslavskoye Shosse near the town of Sergiev Posad, 60 kilometers (35 miles) north of central Moscow. Russian news reports said the plane's engine is believed to have failed.

The red plane was identified as a two-seater, but it was not clear if it was carrying a passenger or only the pilot.
