ANKARA, Turkey – A small explosion sparked panic at a university in Istanbul on Tuesday but no one was hurt, the school said.
Istanbul University said the blast occurred in a restroom but denied media reports of injuries.
Earlier on Tuesday, the state-run Anadolu Agency, said three people were injured. The agency later corrected its story, saying three students were shaken by the blast but they refused to go to a hospital for medical checks.
The agency, citing police, said the explosion could be caused by a small bomb.
Kurdish, leftist and radical Islamic militants have carried out bomb attacks in Istanbul in the past.
