MOSCOW – A Russian man survived a frenzied knife attack by summoning help via Skype.
The victim was left slumped in a pool of blood after a robber burst into his home and stabbed him several times before making off with 10,000 rubles ($330) and a cell phone, RIA Novosti reported.
The raider cut the homeowner's telephone line as he fled, leaving his victim helpless and seemingly unable to raise the alarm.
However the resident was able to reach his computer and videocall his son on Skype, who alerted cops and medics to the stabbing in the northern Novgorod region and managed to save his dad.
The robber was eventually caught and now faces up to 12 years behind bars after admitting his guilt, the state-owned news agency said.
