It’s a good week to be Robinson Cano.

The same day the American League Captain of Monday’s Home Run Derby rang the Opening Bell of the NASDAQ stock exchange, Cano was relishing in his new role as the new face of Pepsi.

In his first marketing deal since signing with Jay-Z's Roc Nation Sports, Cano will star in the soft drink company’s national Major League Baseball marketing campaign.

"He represents the kind of athlete who is in the moment, has a great personality and connects with consumers," Heidi Sandreuter, senior director of sports marketing for Pepsi, told ESPN.

The New York Yankees second baseman will make his debut in a commercial for the official sports drink of the major league during the Major League Baseball All-Star Game this Tuesday.

"This deal reflects how powerful Robinson's brand is," Roc Nation Sports spokesman Ron Berkowitz said. "His personality and performance and crossover appeal are all attractive to corporate partners."

The amount of the deal is unknown.

Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports partnered with the Creative Artists Agency's CAA Sports in April to represent athletes, and Jay-Z became a certified baseball agent who will represent Cano along with CAA Sports' Brodie Van Wagenen.
