KATHMANDU, Nepal – Britain's Prince Harry has visited a camp in Nepal for families made homeless by last year's devastating earthquake, as well as palaces and temples that were damaged in the disaster.
On the second day of his five-day official visit to Nepal, Harry talked to families living in the camp at Bhaktapur, just east of the capital, Kathmandu, inquiring about the living conditions.
Earlier on Sunday, he traveled to Patan, south of Kathmandu, visiting the city's palace and Golden Temple areas. Both of those areas suffered major damage in last April's earthquake, which killed nearly 9,000 people and destroyed about 1 million homes.
People are hoping the prince's visit will draw attention to Nepal's struggle to recover from the disaster.
