Police find 5 decapitated bodies in western Mexico

Prosecutors in the western Mexican state of Michoacan say they have found five decapitated bodies on the outskirts of Morelia, the state capital.

The state attorney general's office says the bodies of three men were found Saturday leaned up against the curb of a traffic circle.

Their heads had been placed next to them.

A little later Saturday, the bodies of two other men were found in another community on the outskirts of Morelia. Both had been decapitated.

Michoacan has been the scene of bloody turf battles between the Caballeros Templarios cartel and the Jalisco New Generation gang.
