A screwdriver-wielding Palestinian man stabbed two Israeli police officers in Jerusalem on Wednesday -- hitting one of them in the head -- before officers shot and killed him.

The attack unfolded near the Austrian Hospice guesthouse in the Muslim quarter of the Old City. A 14-year-old Palestinian was moderately wounded as well, although investigators said it was unclear how that happened.
The wounded officers were from Israel's paramilitary border police and the national police, spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.
The 21-year-old Palestinian man was from the West Bank city of Hebron, police said.
On Tuesday, police arrested a Palestinian woman who tried charging at officers with her car and attacking them with a knife while screaming "Allahu Akbar," or "God is great," police told the Jerusalem Post. There were no reports of anybody hurt in that incident.
Since last year, Palestinian attackers have killed 36 Israelis and two visiting Americans in stabbings, shootings and car ramming attacks. During the same period, 228 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire. Israel says most of the Palestinians killed were attackers while the rest died in clashes with troops.
Israel says the violence is driven by a Palestinian campaign of incitement, while Palestinians say it's the result of nearly 50 years of Israeli occupation and dwindling hopes for an independent state.
