An orderly who was injured last week in a gas explosion that destroyed a hospital in Mexico's capital has died, raising the death toll from the blast to five.

Jorge Luis Tinoco was the third employee of the Maternity and Children's Hospital in Cuajimalpa, in western Mexico City, to die. The city government says in a statement that the 27-year-old was hurt in the Jan. 29 explosion while trying to move newborns to safety.

Investigators say a leak on a propane truck that had arrived to supply the hospital caused a deadly gas cloud to accumulate. It ignited in a blast that leveled 70 percent of the building.

The government statement said Tinoco died Friday. Two nurses and two infants died previously.
