Actress, model, mother and now business mogul; Jessica Alba has many titles.
If you weren't already convinced that the multi-talented Mexican-American was a success, then check out Forbes, which has added Alba to its list of the world's 40 richest self-made women thanks in large part to her non-toxic household product company, The Honest Company.
The company, which the movie star-turned-businesswoman owns about a 20 percent stake in, recently announced that it had closed $100 million in Series D financing – putting the value of the company at upwards of $1.7 billion and boosting Alba's net worth to approximately $340 million.
The announcement comes just a couple of weeks after Honest came under fire because a number of customers complained about its sunscreen line. They called it ineffective and some shared photos of their bodies severely sunburned.
Alba and business associate Christopher Gavigan issued an apology and said they were taking every precaution to solve the problem.
The 34-year-old joined up with The Honest Company on the ground floor, when it was only selling diapers and baby wipes online, and has seen the business grow into a 120-product empire. Her stake in the company now makes her richer than Beyoncé Knowles ($250 million) and YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki ($300 million), and only $40 million shy of Yahoo Marissa Mayer.
Her newly acquired fortune also ties her with best-selling novelist Nora Roberts and Texas oil mogul Kathy Lehne.
With her new money, Alba has taken a short break from work and headed to Guatemala for a family a vacation that has been extensively documented on Instagram.
