Nelson Mandela's grandson arrested for allegedly raping a teenager in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG – South African police say a man identified as one of Nelson Mandela's grandsons has been arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.

Police spokeswoman Brig. Mashadi Selepe said Mbuso Mandela, 24, is in police custody and will appear in a Johannesburg magistrates court Friday for a bail hearing. He was charged with rape on Monday.

Selepe said the rape allegedly took place at a restaurant in Greenside, a Johannesburg suburb on Aug. 7.

She said Mandela was arrested last Saturday.
