Mexican Navy Searching for Missing Female Crew Member on Disney Ship
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}The Mexican Navy is searching for a female crew member of the Disney "Wonder" cruise ship who disappeared while on a seven-day cruise from Los Angeles to Mexico.
Authorities say the woman failed to show up for her onboard shift Tuesday, UPI.com reports, and hasn't been seen or heard from since.
The ship, which carries over 2,700 passengers and 950 crew members, left the port of Los Angeles on Sunday.
{{#rendered}} {{/rendered}}"Given the circumstances, we are very concerned about this situation and are doing everything possible to assist with the search effort and investigation," Disney spokeswoman Christi Donnan told Fox News.
"The Mexican Navy has been conducting searches since Tuesday, and the Bahamas Maritime Authority is leading the investigation on this matter," Donnan continued. "We have also done a thorough and comprehensive inspection of the ship and spoken with the crew member's colleagues to gather as much information as possible."
