Lithuanian police say they have seized 600 kilograms (1,300 pounds) of cocaine discovered in a coal shipment from Colombia.

Investigators say it's the largest cocaine bust in Lithuania's history.

Police commissioner Linas Pernavas on Tuesday said the drugs were probably bound for the Russian market, with an estimated street value of 40 million euros.

The cocaine was found in a shipment of 250 tons of coal.

Nine suspects, most of them Lithuania and at least one Colombian, were arrested. They face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
