DOHA, Qatar – Libyan rebels are in Qatar's capital to call for stronger international pressure on Moammar Gadhafi's regime as Western and Arab envoys gather to discuss options.
Wednesday's meeting is also the first high-profile forum for Gadhafi's former foreign minister, Moussa Koussa, who defected to Britain last month and is expected in Qatar.
The Libya Contact Group session comes after France's president urged NATO to boost attacks on Gadhafi's forces to break the military stalemate.
Envoys from NATO, including the U.S., and Arab allies are expected to attend.
The wealthy Gulf state of Qatar is one of the few Arab countries providing warplanes to the NATO air campaign and has helped Libyan rebels sell oil to buy weapons and supplies.
