Current and former students of a Los Angeles high school were allegedly victimized by their football coach over more than 15 years, according to  authorities.

Jaime Jimenez, 46, volunteered since 1998 at Benjamin Franklin High School in the Highland Park section of the city, a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. He was placed under arrest Friday and is being held on a $450,000 bail, the New York Daily News is reporting.

Los Angeles Unified School District is cooperating with the police in trying to determine the extent of Jimenez’s alleged abuse. Officials with the school district said it is not clear when the alleged abuse started.

“[Investigators believe he] may have victimized former students who are now adults and are urging them to come forward,” according to an LAPD statement quoted by the Daily News.

The suspect continued coaching up until the time of his arrest.
